Where has the time gone?! I can’t believe that we are already half way through this pregnancy journey with our first baby! Dr. Jenke has been really great through this whole process. Our 20 week appointment went great! Our little peanut is only in the 20th percentile but is healthy as can be!
Baby Hurt Bump Update
I am officially 20 week and 5 days. Adam and I are feeling pretty calm! Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had my days and its been an emotional roller coaster. Not finding out the sex has gotten a little harder for me! It will be worth the wait or least that’s what everyone keeps telling us! We are just starting to get things slowly for the nursery! Adam and I both are getting pretty excited!
I’m excited to share with you guys our first bumpdate, 20 week!
“How are you feeling?”
I love that you guys reach out and have been asking how I am feeling! At the beginning of my 1st trimester I couldn’t believe how tired I was. Good news, is that I no longer feel tired and have my energy back! Bad new, as far as nausea goes, that has not let up for me along with having heartburn.
The pregnancy hormones are real; I’m not sure there is any way to prepare yourself for the hormones. The emotional roller coaster! We toured our first home daycare a few weeks back; I found myself crying for two days after. Like seriously? Wow! I want to be transparent as possible. Its like a light-switch one minute you’re happy and excited, and the next moody and crying. Anxiety has been real for me! Worrying about daycare, can I do this? Am I ready to be a mom?! We struggled to get pregnant, I even have wondered if something is wrong with me. Why am I feeling this way? We wanted this! This is all totally normal! Just remember to be gentle on yourself mama!! You’ve got this!! You’re stronger than you know! I have to remind myself of this often!
Changes
I’ve entered the phase of “I’m not fat, I’m pregnant”!! I’ve been able to still getaway with wearing my non-maternity jeans. And recently bought this bellyband!
Pregnancy brain is a real thing! Wow, I mean I even tired getting into the wrong car in the parking lot of Target! There have been so many moments where I am super forgetful or just loose my train of thought all together!
There have been no food cravings for me yet! I love Ice cream at the moment!
A common question I’ve gotten from you guys is if I have felt baby hurt move yet! I have not yet!
We are not finding out baby hurts gender!! Nor sharing the names!!
Working out has been my saving grace!!! I literally feel so good when I get to workout during the week. The coaches at Orangetheory have been amazing! Modifying my workouts throughout my first and second trimester. I highly recommended working out here!
Second Trimester must have items:
- Mama Milo Tummy Rub Butter
- Leacho pregnancy pillow
- A Water bottle I use my Hydroflask to keep track of my intake
- Tums; having these on hand are nice! I’ve had heartburn since the beginning.
- Dr. Teals Epsom Salt
- Nature Made Prenatal Multivitamins
- Slippers
- Snacks!! You’ll want some snacks in the house at all times!
